Gems Of Wisdom
- Buy a bunch of Molex materials, solder and wires so you can work when TAs are gone
- Don’t leave your robot in run mode and leave the room, it might communicate with the FSR and fall off the table
- Fix noise in your circuits with grounded shielding, twisted pair wire, and capacitors across your input wires
- Start soldering early; it takes a while and can cause new problems requiring debugging
- Always check that everything is plugged in before panicking
- Bad oscilloscope probe can be a cause for weird signal behavior
- Be careful not to plug in chips upside down
- Always prototype a workable device early. Focus on getting the basic functionality working before optimizing designs
- Always check the leads of the IR sensor. Plugging them in the other direction will still work, but will give strange behavior occasionally
